Splintered mind

Splintered Mind's neo hard rock sound is the brain child of a pair of Louisville, KY based musicians who came of age making music in similar circles in their hometown without ever actually meeting. When their paths finally did cross Phil Bright (guitar, keys, bass) and Carl Stuck (vocals, guitar) found that they had a common love of early hard rock as well as modern prog artists.

The two first got together at The Louisville Recording Company, Bright's Louisville, Ky recording studio, in 2016 when Bright reached out to Stuck to do some co-writing. Upon discovering their similar musical tastes and completing their first co-write the two decided to continue the partnership as an ongoing side project with the intention of writing, recording, and releasing music that was different than either were doing on their own.

To round out their sound they enlisted their mutual friend Rex Owen to play drums on their debut release Starting Now.

Bright had previously seen success placing several of his tunes in television programs such as Eddie Trunk’s That Metal Show and VH1's Behind the Music while Stuck had been spending time playing live both as a solo artist and as sideman to artists as diverse as country supergroup Alabama's Randy Owen and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

Their debut single "Starting Now" was released on March 1st 2019 as the first of an intended series of single releases.
